Antumi Toasijé began his journey in painting and poetry in Ibiza, where he joined the poetic group Desfauste and took an active part in the island’s cultural life, a fact noted in the Enciclopedia de Eivissa y Formentera. In Mallorca, he exhibited alongside the painter Nils Burwitz at the University of the Balearic Islands. And in Madrid, between 2006 and 2014, he taught Ceramics and Arts in juvenile detention centres. Since 2003, he has been a collaborator of the Asociación de Jóvenes y Nuevos Diseñadores Españoles (ANDE), designing much of their posters and visual identity. Currently, Antumi Toasijé works with acrylic on canvas, wood, paper, and cardboard, pencil drawing, and enamel fired on ceramic tiles, creating works that move between naturalistic neo-expressionism and neo-fauvism. His current work focuses on African migrations and the political movements of Africa and its Diaspora.
